Which Injectable Is Right for Me?

Cosmetic treatments are a hot item on the market right now. With so many options available to help you achieve a more youthful look, it makes sense.
Who doesn’t want smoother looking skin and fewer wrinkles? To look your best, consider injectable treatments. They can help erase the appearance of wrinkles, decrease the folds in your skin, and add volume to your face and hands.
To look your best, you need to understand your options to learn what might work best for you.
At Westport MediSpa, our board-certified physician, Dr. Dana Brownell, leads our team in advanced, nonsurgical skin care treatments.
Here’s what we offer and how injectables work.
Dermal fillers explained
Dermal fillers add volume to your lips, fill in your wrinkles, and can even lessen the appearance of scars. They fill in areas where soft tissues should be and may help produce collagen, which is an essential protein that plumps up your skin.
When you come in for a consultation with our team, we explain your treatment options and talk to you about which ones can enhance your specific cosmetic issues.
Types of injectables
To make the right decision about the injectable that works best for you, you should be well-informed about your options.
We can use dermal fillers whether muscle is present or not. Dermal filler options include:
Restylane®
Restylane is a filler that can restore fullness to your face and bring back your natural tone. Results are immediate and typically last about a year.
Perlane®
This filler restores facial fullness and lasts about 12 months.
Juvederm®
This type of filler adds volume to targeted areas on your face and chin with hyaluronic acid. It also fills in the creases in your smile lines. You may see results for upt to a year.
All three of these are similar but offer a different smoothness. We can help you make the right choice.
We also offer other treatments, including:
Botox®
Botox relaxes muscles in the injected areas, reducing wrinkles and lines in your skin that are the result of facial muscle contractions such as smiling, frowning, and squinting. This treatment can last up to four months.
Kybella™
This treatment treats submental fat, which is excess fat under your chin. We inject a synthetic version of deoxycholic acid, which makes your body absorb fat. It’s the only injectable treatment for a double chin that’s FDA-approved.
The end result
No matter what type of injectable you choose, you should see visible results. We can consult with you ongoing as your cosmetic needs change.
