A Long-term Solution for Cellulite

Cellfina® is an exciting, new, in-demand cellulite treatment that has everyone buzzing — and for good reason! Just a single hour-long, in-office session can eliminate cellulite. It works by targeting the root of cellulite, which are tight bands of tissue under the skin that pull the skin down, creating a dimpled texture. Loosening these bands through the Cellfina system smoothes out the skin and restores elasticity.
Board-certified physician Dana Brownell, MD, of Westport MediSpa is devoted to providing the highest quality in aesthetic medicine and is pleased to offer a long-term cellulite solution. Cellfina is an FDA-cleared, minimally invasive treatment that minimizes the appearance of cellulite. Keep reading if you’re interested in learning more about this revolutionary treatment.
What is cellulite?
Cellulite is a fact of life: Roughly 90% of women have some cellulite, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t do something about it. While over-the-counter cellulite creams and serums often fail to deliver the promised results, there are treatments that work, and Cellfina is one of them!
The characteristic dimples of cellulite are caused by bands of connective tissue pulling the skin down into the body's deeper tissues. Cellulite dimples form when fat accumulates around these bands, pushing up on the skin around them.
The appearance is often described as cottage cheese or an orange peel. Instead of your skin appearing smooth, the affected areas have a dimpled appearance that can sabotage your self-confidence.
What is Cellfina?
Cellfina is a cellulite treatment that works by disrupting snipping the cords that cause the dimpled appearance using a minimally invasive cutting device. Dr. Brownell numbs the area before inserting a small device through your skin near each cellulite dimple. On the end of the device is a tiny, rapidly vibrating blade that divides the band responsible for causing the dimple. This is repeated until each dimple is treated.
There is typically no bleeding and only minor bruising. About 25 dimples can be treated in one hour. Most patients return to work within a few days and the majority of bruising and swelling goes away after two weeks.
The Cellfina difference
The longevity of Cellfina is particularly impressive. At 5-year-followup, 100% of patients maintained their results and were happy, according to a study.
When a cord of connective tissue is cut, it does not appear to regrow and pull the skin down to form a dimple, which means Cellfina provides a long-term cellulite solution. You can rely on the results of the safe and effective cellulite treatment. That doesn't rule out the possibility of new dimples forming.
